How many wedding do you officiate a year? I usually officiate 50 or more a year..
How far are you willing to travel? Is there a travel fee? I will travel 100 miles if necessary, and occasionally can be talked into travelling further. My stated fee includes travel, and mileage is not billed as a separate item..
What is your event cancellation policy? I simply ask for prompt notice if there has been a change in plans. .
What is your customer satisfication cancellation policy? I have never had a couple cancel my services. However, I would ask that I receive as prompt a notice as possible if there has been a change of mind..
What are your standard payment terms? I prefer that the payment be made prior to the wedding, when at all possible, so that we don't have to transact business at the ceremony. I accept cash, checks, money orders, and credit cards via PayPal on my website. I do not require a deposit, and I do not require a contract. I still believe in the honor system..
What makes you different from other local wedding officiants? Why should someone hire you? I have no other agenda except assisting a couple to make a public statement of a very private commitment. I am completely dependable, experienced, professional, and affordable. I also welcome small weddings, couples on a budget, and non-traditional couples..
How long does the ceremony usually last? The average ceremony is about 20 minutes..
Will you marry couples of different faiths or previous divorce? I am pleased to help couples of differing faiths, or who have been married previously..
What documents do I need to bring to our first meeting? I do not require documents..
How long after the ceremony do you file for the official marriage license? I go directly to the post office from the ceremony to mail in the signed license. I don't even wait a day..
What kind of pre-wedding counseling is required, if any? I don't require any kind of pre-wedding counseling, but I am pleased to meet with a couple if I can be of help in any way. I do suggest a pre-wedding meeting to plan the logistics of the wedding itself, if time permits..
Can we read or hear your ceremony before our wedding day? Unless I am officiating a spur of the moment wedding, I send a copy of the ceremony to the couple ahead of time for their input and approval. There are no surprises on the wedding day..
Will you allow us to write our own vows? Of course you may write your own vows. I may offer some advice or suggestions, but the final decision as to what is said remains the couple's. My job is to facilitate whatever is meaningful to the two people getting married..
Do you have a back up officiant on call, in case of an emergency? Yes, I have a couple of back-up options..
Do you normally attend the reception? I do not usually attend the reception. .
In which states and communities are you licensed to officiate ceremonies? I prefer to officiate in Arizona, but theoretically could officiate in almost every state..
