• How many months in advance do I need to reserve your services for my wedding date? As soon as possible would be the standard answer however we have brides contact us within weeks of their wedding. If your date is available you may have it. .

• Who exactly will be taking pictures at my wedding? Do you use subcontractors? We do not subcontract any photographers. The photographer you meet with is the photographer you will have at your wedding. Unlike chain studios we have one primary photographer and only the secondary rotates. .

• What are your standard payment terms? How much is the deposit? We require a 10% deposit to hold your date with the remainder due in full at the time of your wedding. .

• What is included in your basic wedding packages? All of our packages include a 4x6 proof album yours to keep, online ordering at no extra cost, and most of our packages include a full resolution CD. .

• Can guests view and order shots on-line? How soon will the photos be put on-line? Yes your images are available online within 15-30 days after the wedding. We will give them a card with the information at the wedding so you don't have to if you'd prefer. .

• Will you be taking digital photographs? Is there an extra charge for this service? We take only digital photographs at no extra fee. .

• What new ideas have you implemented in the last couple years? Are you current with latest trends? The newest things we've implemented is the use of post processing techniques in the processing of the digital files. We attend several seminars a year so we can offer the latest trends, however we always include the original non processed images so the bride retains the choice over which she receives..

• What kind of equipment will you bring with you? Do you bring backup equipment? lighting? We each carry two cameras with an assortment of lenses required to do our job. We also have not only on camera flash but a variety of studio lighting kits to choose from that travel with us to every wedding. .

• Can I keep the negatives? the proofs? Is there an extra charge for this service? How much? With all but one of our packages a full resolution CD is included with the package price. Also included in many of our packages is your proof book. .

• Do you bring an assistant to the wedding to help coordinate portraits? We offer one and two photographer packages and regardless there is always an additional person who is responsible for transporting the lighting and setting it up so the photographer/s can give the bride and groom their undivided attention..

• Can we request both that both color and black & white photography be used at the wedding? Of course you may request both. We shoot digital images in color that can easily be changed to black and white offering you the best of both in each image. .

• How far are you willing to travel? Is there a travel charge? We travel as far as necessary to shoot your special event. Travel is free up to a two hour drive from our location. .

• How would you describe your photographic style? What does this mean? We offer a mixed style of photojournlism and traditional portraits. What this means is we tell the story of your wedding day from beginning to end capturing emotions as well as the traditional images associated with weddings. .

• How many pictures do you take? Can I provide a list of posed photos for you to take? There is no magic number of images we take. The number will depend on the time alotted. It's about quality not quantity. If you are hiring a photographer for five hours and they offer you 600 images remember they are shooting at a rate of two images per minute, not only will there not be variety they don't have the time to properly pose and light the sittings. We meet with all of our couples just prior to their wedding to make sure our list of preferred images match as well as getting examples from our bride as to what type she likes. .

• How many weddings have you photographed? We have photographed countless wedding ceremonies and portraits as well as events. Heidi works as a photojournalist 40 hours a week so her skills remain sharp and up to date. .

• How quickly will I receive my prints? Online proofs are viewable in 15-30 days from the wedding with the proofs being available about 7 days after they are posted online. .

• What makes you different from other local photographers? Why should someone hire you? Heidi Litchfield Photography doesn't believe in cookie cutter weddings. Each couple is individual and their photographs should reflect that. .
