• Education I graduated from Shortridge High School (Indianapolis inner city alma mater of author Kurt Vonnegut) in 1968. I graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana in 1972 with a degree in English literature. I took a number of courses for professional writers at the University of Cincinnati in the mid-1970s.

• Certifications I was awarded certification as a liturgist by the Corpus Christi Institute in 1987.

• Awards I have won numerous awards for writing, particularly in the area of short stories and poetry.

• Biography I am a writer and editor with 30 years of experience in both professional and creative/fine arts arenas. My published works range from short stories, poems, plays, song lyrics, children’s stories, and musicals (librettos), to corporate publications and Web sites. Works range in length from a handful to hundreds of pages. My husband, David Serey, is a designer. He and I have been a creative team since 1977 and continue to serve many businesses in the Valley from the crowded little studio that houses the family business. For many years, I have served as a pastoral officiant and continue to assist with approximately 100 celebrations or commemorations a year, including weddings, memorial services, and other life observances. I have lived in Arizona for 31 years, and I have been married to David for 28 years. We are the adoptive parents of three grown children. I continue to write whenever and wherever possible, and enjoy a variety of leisure pursuits. I love animals and the outdoors, and contribute to the delinquency of several indulged pets.

• Associations Community (current): I am actively involved with the Northwest Women’s Network (facilitator); Bowling 4 The Cure (board member for non-profit that raises money for breast cancer research); Bosom Buddies (board member for non-profit that assists people with breast cancer issues and challenges); Arizona Chain Reaction (charter member); Praise and Worship Center (founding member); Orchard Glen Weed and Seed (information officer); Association of Arizona Food Banks (board member); Executive Women International; West Valley Wedding Association (charter member); and the Glendale Chamber of Commerce. I participate in a number of recurring annual charity events, usually in the area of publicity.
