• Biography I was born in Hong Kong and moved with my family to the United States when I was nine-years-old. I was raised in a strict Catholic home. I attended Catholic school, Catechism and mass every weekend. I married Lisa Watanabe in May of 1987 and we have four beautiful children, 3 daughters and a son. We live in North San Diego County. My call to full-time ministry stems from a strong desire to serve God with all my heart and with all my life. In February of 1995, I was a Systems and Programming Manager for Lockheed Martin Corporation when the Senior Pastor at Cypress E.V. Free Church approached me. He asked me to pray about leaving a good paying career to serve full-time in my local church; it was not a difficult decision. God had prepared me for that day. As the responsibilities of the Executive Pastor position were explained to me, I saw God putting together the puzzle pieces of my life experiences. All the pieces came together into a clear picture that this was my purpose; to serve God in full-time ministry. I have never regretted leaving the secular workplace to serve first as an Executive Pastor for 7 years at Cypress Church, 2 years as a Small Groups & Events Pastor at a mega-church in North San Diego County, and then almost 4 years as a Church Planting Pastor. I helped start a large church on 32 acres in North San Diego County. I am currently creating church partnerships with missionary organizations in Africa, doing church consulting, and coaching pastors.
